Chancer One
Saturday 14th August, Funky Mojoes, Woodford: Please help me! If you don’t go out with me my coupled-up mates will dump me for being the odd singleton in the group. Not only do you owe it to me, you owe it to yourself to be seen with one of the hottest girls in town. Legs up to here, hair down to there... I think men find me unapproachable, so I’m approaching you handsome. You were giving me the eye in Funky Mojoes the other night and definitely checking out my pins, and I didn’t see a girlfriend on your arm. You know who you are PAUL! We both appear available and too hot to handle, so why don’t we help each other out?
Chancer Two
Tuesday 10th August, Loughton train station: Five times now (I’ve been counting) I have literally bumped into you walking through the barriers at Loughton station. We always acknowledge each other but never speak. Maybe I’m nervous because I like you. When we get to the stairs you always go eastbound and I go west. It’s like watching a romantic movie waiting for someone to say something. I don’t see you every day but the last time was last week on the Tuesday (10th Aug). You had on a white summer dress, I was wearing a check shirt and had a Gola bag. So in the wise words of Lenny Kravitz, are you gonna go my way?
Chancer Three
Friday 6th August, Railway Tavern, Buckhurst Hill: A quiet drink can often turn into something better if the vibe is right. You and your friends came in to the pub last Friday and you had an instant effect on me. I admired you from a slight distance for most of the evening. You seemed like the sensible one of the group, which attracted me as I don’t do loud and lairy. When you went outside for a cigarette you politely moved me out of your way and said “excuse me gorgeous” then looked me straight in the eye. I know that look, which was the same look you gave me when you came back in. My name is Martine and would love to go out with you some time... if you ask me, that is.
Chancer Four
Thursday 5th August, Lizard Lounge, South Woodford: Hello to the girl with the sunshine smile. Had a really stressful week at work and thought I’d pop down to Lizard Lounge for a few beers and see my mates. Glad I did because you were there which now tells me I was meant to go. I don’t know your name but remember you wearing a short blue leather jacket, had blonde hair and noticed me looking at you when you were at the bar. I was sat down with my two friends John and Sarah, and had a Franklin & Marshall T-shirt on.
Don’t know why but I winked at you. Embarrassing yes, but it was a compliment and hopefully you’ll remember me. The name’s Chris.
